Transferring Saves
-------------------

If you've played up to chapter 10 in Siegfried's mode and stopped at the Interlude (like you are supposed to), then no fret, you can continue the game right where you left off, with the same characters and everything.

Simply follow these steps to transfer a savestate from one game to another using Visual Boy Advance. I recommend Visual Boy Advance v1.8.0.3 by the way, because the game was tested on that version of the emulator, but v1.7.2 should work as well.

1. Load your old Tactics Universe game with the old save where you stopped at the interlude.
2. Hit Shift+F1 to create a savestate. If you are familiar with savestates and use them, then this savestate may already be in use, so feel free to save to another slot by doing Shift+F# (where F# is one of the keys at the top of your keyboard).
3. Now go to the folder where Tactics Universe is. Say you called the game "Tactics Universe.gba". The save should be called "Tactics Universe1.sgm" or "Tactics Universe#.sgm" depending on what slot you saved to.
4. Do the entire patching process with the new patch on a clean ROM.
5. Let's say the new ROM is called "TU New.gba". Rename your savestate from whatever it was before to "TU New1.sgm". This is just an example--I don't know what YOUR game is called and so I can't tell you exactly what to rename it to.
6. Load the new Tactics Universe version and hit F1 at the top of your keyboard. Restart the Interlude chapter and play on from there. Enjoy!

--------------

Alternatively, this method may or may not work for you. If you don't use VBA, you may have to try this method.

1. For every game is a standard save file. This may be called "YourGame.sav" or "YourGame.sve" or something like that. Take this into mind.
2. Take a clean FE7 ROM and patch on the new patch you are using.
3. Rename the save file from "Whatever.sav", for example, to "Tactics Universe New.sav", so that the game name and the save name match. If your save was originally called "Hack.sav" and your new patched game is called "New Hack.gba" then your new save should be called "New Save.sav". I hope I'm being clear.
4. Load your game and hope that the save data transfers. As I said, this method isn't really concrete.
